When it comes to design we are always looking for ways to make a space as functional and purposeful as possible. From there we add in the design aesthetic to ensure nothing gets missed or overlooked. Here’s our top 6 tips for a truly functional basement Laundry Room.
Yep, you need a sink in your Laundry Room. Everyone gets things on their clothes and you need a place for those bad boys to soak. We like to think as functional as possible when it comes to soaking and love using Elkay’s fireclay double bowl sink! If one large sink is your jam then Elkay’s fireclay single bowl sink where it’s at.
We think storage is always a good idea. Not everyone wants to air the dirty laundry… or all the things that help keep it clean! Under the sink is the perfect space for additional storage. We also like the idea of keeping your laundry organized and off the floor.
Let’s not forget about a faucet. We love the Elkay Pursuit Single Handle Laundry Faucet! The pull down sprayer with two spray functions makes life so much easier.
To keep the Laundry Room functional and aesthetically pleasing we like to add floating shelves. This gives you a place to not only display items that make you happy but keep things you use regularly out and quickly accessible! Like your laundry drying balls or detergent!
Now this might be something you didn’t think of…but we think it’s a total plus. Laundry gets tiring and we don’t want to leave you parched! Thanks to Elkay you can have your very own recessed water bottle filling station! Things will never be the same again. You can thank us later.
You can’t have a Laundry Room without a drying rack! We know not all clothes go into the dryer so planning for a space where those items can be hung and dried is a must!
