Next up on our Jener + Sunset Modern Minimalist project reveal is the Master Bedroom! As a reminder this project was mainly design focused with a few custom builds in the office and pantry. The client already had a great start to their spaces and just needed a little extra help pulling everything together.
For the Master Bedroom the client wanted to turn their bland space into a tropical retreat. Since they have a great love for plants and outdoors we were super excited to design a personal jungle for them to enjoy.
As you can see the space needed some color and what better way to bring in color than through a custom textured wall! Using a textured wall helped create a focal point and some visual interest. We used Benjamin Moore’s Dark Pewter to bring in that jungle feeling!
We updated the bed frame to a calming neutral color with a natural wood base in order to pop on the textured wall. We also loved the structured clean lines and soft texture of the bed frame. With a new bed, also comes new bedding! This was another great opportunity to bring color into the space and create warmth.
As we bring you through the space you can see it’s far from boring! Yes, I know I am teasing that custom wallpaper mural! At this angle you are able to see how the textured wall and mural work together. We also updated the ceiling fan with something more modern and functional. Then we threw in a few of the client’s plant babies and the space feels like a vacation.
Welcome to the jungle! We are so impressed with the design and quality of this mural from Detroit Wallpaper! It really makes the space unique without overpowering the room. We choose to work with blacks and whites to allow any furniture items to add greater dimension.
Below are some additional detail images of the space! The simple updates you make in a space can make all the difference. In this space we updated hardware, lighting, nightstands, added art, new bedding, accent chair, mirror and created two feature walls. There is so much that goes into creating a beautiful, functional, and purposeful home. Follow along here to see how our Jener + Sunset projects came together. And don’t worry I’ve linked all the sources I could at the bottom of this post!
