I am very excited to introduce one of my favorite projects we’ve worked on to date, Jener + Sunset. This project is unique because it didn’t involve a full demolition. Our clients already had a great start to their space but needed a little extra help pulling some ideas together. They also were looking for a few custom builds to help spaces function more efficiently. This project is a great example of how Clark + Aldine can compliment & refresh existing spaces instead of completely starting over!
DINING ROOM
Our clients started with a great clean slate in their kitchen but wanted to bring some personality to the space. They also didn’t love the look and functionality of their current range. Meaning, this should be pretty simple… replace the range, remove & update the backslash, and update the island lighting.
For the pantry they wanted to create more storage and counter space in order to move their coffee setup from the kitchen. This would allow more counter space for cooking. Our solution will be to build a custom pantry that accomplishes all of their asks while tying into their current kitchen aesthetic.
Since this is an open floor plan it feels necessary to update the dining area and connect both spaces. Also, we’ll switch out the lighting to create a space for more plants and dinnerware. Finally, we’ll select art for the naked wall.
The clients already have a great layout and quality furniture items for the space. However, the lake of colors left the space with a flat feeling. With a few easy decor items such as an area rug, pillows, throws, end table we plan to bring this space some depth and personality.
The office space is absolutely beautiful… It’s set at the front of the house with a large window to allow plenty of natural light. A office space dream, truly!
The space is lacking in decor and functionality. So, our goal is to create somewhere you actually want to go to work. Through a massive and moody custom built-in equipped with a ladder we will create a space for all of the office equipment. We will also add depth and personality through an area rug and with accent lighting. Something not featured on our mood board is a custom gallery wall that will include art from clients’ travels. This will provide a focal point from the hallway.
Since the client’s house is an open floor concept the staircase is visible from the first floor. It currently has the original lighting and feels bare. We will simply update the lighting to something more modern by adding a textured stair runner and a large gallery wall to align with the first floor updates.
This main bedroom is the kind of space you dream of having! It is spacious, has vaulted ceilings, a walk-in closet, a full bath, and endless natural light. Since this is truly the perfect space we want to make it feel like you’re on vacation somewhere tropical…and far away from daily life.
Therefore we will be creating a massive textured wall behind their headboard wall and a custom mural on the opposite wall to bring their retreat to life. On the complimentary walls we will replace the lighting, ceiling fan, and bench with more natural tones.
While all of our projects bring me so much joy, this one has a special place in my heart. Maybe it’s the jungle kitties in the custom mural… Or, the massive built-in with a ladder… Either way, this place is a gem!
We are looking forward to bringing you with us on each of these reveals so you can tell us about your favorite space… Even if it’s not one of ours! For even more behind the scenes things make sure to follow along on our Instagram! Until next time.
Keep on doing you –
