Well, the time is finally here for us to share just what we have been up to! Michael and I are participating in the One Room Challenge by Calling It Home where for six weeks starting TODAY we will be showcasing our renovation progress through my social channels + of course here with all of you in blog series. Make sure to check in every week from now until May 11th when we do a final master bedroom makeover reveal!!!

As many of you know we bought our very first home just over two years ago and we have been non stop renovating. We have a 1950s bungalow which has an addition on the second floor. Up until this point our focus has been the main floor, as that is where we spend a majority of our time. We are beyond excited to tackle our next challenge starting with our master bedroom! Let’s lay it all out there and talk about what we are actually looking to do in our master bedroom makeover. Since you all know how much I love lists I’ve broken down our makeover into a list format for you to follow along with too!

How to create a warm and inviting master bedroom retreat!

add new flooring (for us that means some serious renovation to our subfloors)
add character to our already existing closet doors
built in dresser with updated color and hardware
bay window seating area with updated color, hardware and textiles
lighting
furniture
accent pieces
And of course let’s not forget adding new pillows and throws…you can never have to many, right!

To help give you all more of an idea where we are looking to go with this project I’ve created my very first mood board! Michael and I have lived in several homes together over the years and have painted all of our master bedrooms, but this will be a first for us to actually create a customized space for just us two! We are really looking forward to creating a warm and inviting master bedroom retreat with contemporary eclectic and timeless vibes showcasing our style for y’all to see.
