One of the biggest trends we’ve seen since the pandemic started is how many people want to fully enjoy the outdoors. This is a trend we are seeing across the board for all clients and in any season. With the fall season in full effect here in Michigan, we aren’t ready to give up outdoor living and entertaining. Clearly, we are in-line with this trend and we want to help you enjoy the seasons outdoors, too! Here are our top tips to host a cozy outdoor get-together while keeping the outdoor fun alive!

Create an Ambience

Setting the mood is one of the most important parts of a gathering. You want your guests to feel warm and welcomed, not to mention comfortable in an outdoor setting in the fall. We love to use lighting to help establish the mood. Setting up solar-powered lanterns is an easy way to set the vibe. Another great source of lighting is, of course, our propane-powered fire table. An added bonus is that it is a completely odorless, sootless, warm experience. This is a no-brainer for your guests!

Let’s start with the necessary. If you are going to host anything outdoors here in late fall you are going to need a dependable heat source. Having ample seating for the evening is vital. Make sure your outdoor seating is comfortable and at a safe distance from the fire for an enjoyable experience. 

Seasonal Decor

It wouldn’t be a party for us if we didn’t use some seasonal decor. We like to keep things simple for you though. This year we’re using mums and faux pumpkins! Yes, those bad boys aren’t real. As many of you know we’ve struggled with squirrels loving our pumpkins and these pumpkins look so good it’s hard to tell they aren’t real.

Simple Drinks

Make your life easy and have simple beverages available for your guests. Some of our go-tos are wine, beer, and tons of sparkling water.

A Spread of Food

This part is fun and simple! You can’t throw a party without food. Because we entertain friends and family with certain dietary needs, we created a table charcuterie that is entirely free of gluten and cow’s milk. Don’t forget to mix in seasonal fresh fruits like pears, raisins, dates, strawberries or blueberries; we sprinkle a variety of nuts for our guests to enjoy too. Charcuterie spreads are easy to create and look absolutely stunning!
