MODERN NEUTRAL BEDROOM REVEAL // GLENGROVE + HAMILTON

Next up from our Glengrove + Hamilton Project we are revealing the Master Bedroom. As a reminder, we are completely transforming this second floor into a sleek and modern space. Here you can learn more about this project and what it entails -- Within that link, we’ll be sharing our process from start to finish so you can join the fun!

BEFORE IMAGES

Before we hop into the reveal, take a look at where we started:

The space was outdated and our clients needed help. It was a true collaboration because they had an idea of where to take the space but they didn’t know how to achieve it. That’s what we are here for - helping bring visions to life! They were looking for a bright, airy, and relaxing space where they could wind down. We (and our clients) think we achieved just that… Do you?

AREA RUG

As The Dude once said, “the rug really brings the room together.” And, while there’s a ton of amazing updates, the rug is my favorite piece in this space. In fact, the rug truly brought the room together because it was the first item picked for this transformation. From there, we tied everything else into it! While this is not a vintage rug it was inspired by the breathtaking vintage persian design. It is 100% wool to provide a cozy feeling on your feet when you get out of bed and is durable enough for 2 large pups. It provides the space with a blend of muted colors in a luxury pattern to create texture.

HEADBOARD + BEDDING

We wanted the headboard to be neutral and bring a sense of sophistication. And we were able to accomplish this by using tufted horizontal straight lines and a square shape to frame the bed. It also provided the client with a comfortable backrest for nights spent reading or watching TV.

For the bedding we wanted to keep it simple, sleek, and timeless. Therefore, we kept the sheets white and paired with an oatmeal linen duvet cover to compliment the neutral headboard. Then we added an alpaca wool blanket with a lined pattern to add some texture. Lastly, we finished by layering some pillows in the same color pallet for a polished look.

NIGHT STANDS + LIGHTING

While overall we tend to lean on the side of asymmetrical, there is something about a bedroom that calls for some symmetry. On each side of the bed we placed an elegant walnut nightstand with black marbled tops. Each nightstand provides an unexpected textured drawer and features steel framed legs. Given the beautiful tops we kept the styling to a minimum.

For lighting we always like to provide overhead lighting for maximum viewing paired with a second layer used for mood. In this case we added a matte black ceiling fan with our primary lighting since this bedroom tends to run hot in the summer months. Then for our secondary lighting we used matte black adjustable sconces with gold accents above the nightstands.

PAINT

In order to keep this space feeling bright, fresh, and airy we went with a C+A favorite. Sherwin Williams Alabaster is great for the ceiling, trim, and walls since it gives off the perfect amount of warmth without feeling yellow or outdated. Beyond that, the white paint acts as a blank canvas allowing the area rug, furniture, and lighting to pop.

There is so much that goes into creating a beautiful, functional, and purposeful home. Follow along here to see how our Glengrove + Hamilton projects whole second floor came together. And don’t worry I’ve linked all the sources I could at the bottom of this post!

-Keep on doing you
